The Datalogic PowerScan PM9501 DPM is a rugged cordless 2D area imager from Datalogic's PowerScan 9500 series, made for reading direct part marking (DPM) codes. Its high-density optics with special illumination read laser-etched, dot-peened, chemically etched and inkjet-printed codes directly on metal and plastic parts, as well as small printed 1D and 2D labels. The scanner talks to its base station over the Datalogic STAR Cordless System™ 2.0 – a two-way 433 MHz narrow-band radio with a range of up to 50 m at high speed or 120 m at low speed in open air that does not interfere with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth networks. A removable 3350 mAh Li-ion battery lasts for 60,000+ reads per charge and can be swapped in about 3 seconds, the housing is sealed to IP65 and withstands 50 drops from 2.0 m onto concrete, and the scanner comes with a 3-year Datalogic warranty.

The PM9501-DPM433RBK10 is the basic model without a display – a straightforward trigger-only scanner. It uses the 433 MHz STAR radio – the version for Europe and most countries outside North America. It is supplied as a complete USB kit with the BC9030-433 base station/charger, a 2 m USB cable and a power supply with EU power cord – ready to connect and scan.

• Hot-swappable battery for multi-shift work – the removable 3350 mAh Li-ion battery lasts for 60,000+ reads per charge and is replaced in about 3 seconds; it charges in the base in about 4.5 hours with the external power supply, and spare batteries plus a 4-slot charger keep 24-hour operations running.
• Built for the shop floor – IP65 sealing against dust and water jets, 50 drops from 2.0 m onto concrete and an operating range of −20 °C to 50 °C.
• Clear good-read feedback – Datalogic 3GL™ (Three Green Lights), the Green Spot projected onto the code, dual good-read LEDs and a loud, adjustable beeper confirm every read.
• Motionix™ motion sensing – the scanner detects the operator's movements and automatically switches to the right scanning mode.
• Soft white illumination – the soft-pulsed white light produces fewer flashes and is gentle on the eyes during scan-intensive work.
• Flexible 433 MHz base stations – the USB and RS-232 kits include the BC9030-433 base/charger and the Ethernet kit the BC9180-433 (standard Ethernet or industrial EtherNet/IP, Modbus); the BC9130-433 adds a spare-battery charging slot and the BC9160-433 adds RS-485, while the SD9030-433-A USB dongle is an alternative radio receiver. How to read the part numbers: DPM marks the Direct Part Marking version, and the extra D in PM9501-DDPM a backlit display with 4 keys; 433 is the radio frequency (433 MHz for Europe – 910 MHz versions for North America are available on request); RB means the removable battery is included.
