Newland FM80 Salmon Counter Scanner (NLS-FM8080-20)
Regular price 800,00 zł +VAT

The Newland FM80 Salmon is a high-performance built-in (fixed-mount) 2D scanner with an extra-large scan window – the counter-mounted sibling of the FR80 Salmon presentation scanner. It is designed to sit flush in checkout counters, self-service checkouts and kiosks, with six anchor points on the front edge of the window and a soft inlay around it for a neat fit. Its megapixel 1280 × 1088 sensor reads all major 1D and 2D barcodes – including damaged, poorly printed and high-density codes on alcohol, tobacco and pharmaceutical products – from labels as well as phone screens, and captures EAN codes moving at up to 3.5 m/s. IP52 sealing and a 5-year (60-month) Newland warranty. This version, NLS-FM8080-20, is the USB kit: it is supplied with a 3 m USB cable – ready to plug in and scan, powered via USB, no power supply needed.

📦 What's in the box – NLS-FM8080-20

  • ✅ Newland FM80 Salmon counter scanner – black, large scan window, 149 × 78.5 × 166.5 mm, 6 anchor points for flush installation; USB and RS-232 (depending on the cable)
  • ✅ USB cable (CBL151U) – straight, 3 m – connects the scanner's RJ45 data port to a USB port on your PC or POS; the scanner is powered via USB
  • ❌ Power adapter – not included and not needed for USB – only for RS-232 you need a 5 V / 1.5 A adapter on the scanner's DC jack (order separately)
  • ❌ Mounting brackets / screws – not included – the scanner is fitted into a cut-out in your own counter, checkout or kiosk

💡 No stand needed – the FM80 Salmon is installed flush in a cut-out in your counter, checkout or kiosk (see the mounting drawings in the Newland user guide). The interface cable is detachable: to connect via RS-232, use the Newland RS-232 cable (CBL0157R) together with a 5 V power adapter (see all compatible Newland cables in the accessories).

Key Features

  • Megapixel performance – the 1280 × 1088 CMOS sensor reads all major 1D and 2D codes (QR Code, Data Matrix, PDF417, Micro QR, Micro PDF417 and more), including damaged, poorly printed and high-density codes; GS1 ready.
  • Large scan window, high motion tolerance – captures EAN codes moving at up to 3.5 m/s; the large window and short depth of field read codes on bulky goods or items held very close, so users – experienced or not – do not need to line codes up precisely, and full baskets go through faster.
  • Made for flush installation – six anchor points on the front edge of the window and a soft inlay around the window edge give a clean, comfortable fit in counters and enclosures; only 78.5 mm deep.
  • Comfortable for customers and staff – anti-glare short- and long-range illumination does not dazzle anyone, and codes on customers' phone screens (e-vouchers, loyalty cards, scan-to-pay QR codes) are read reliably.
  • Double-read prevention – active sensors tell a deliberately presented code from one that simply stays in front of the window, preventing accidental double scans of the same item.
  • Dual interface, easy integration – USB (HID keyboard, USB CDC virtual COM, HID-POS, IBM SurePOS) and RS-232 via the detachable cable on the RJ45 port, with automatic USB/serial detection; multi-colour status LED, EasySet configuration tool and a 5-year Newland warranty.

Ideal Applications

  • Supermarkets and retail checkouts – built into the counter for fast processing of full baskets
  • Self-service checkouts and kiosks – loyalty codes, e-vouchers and scan-to-pay QR codes from phone screens
  • Liquor, tobacco and pharmacy counters – high-density 2D codes on alcohol, tobacco and pharmaceutical packaging
  • Hospitality and leisure – tickets, vouchers and booking codes on paper or phone screens
  • Parking pay stations – parking tickets and payment QR codes
  • Postal counters – shipping labels and pick-up codes
