The Zebra DS4678 is the cordless Bluetooth® model of Zebra's versatile DS4600 Series of 2D handheld imagers. An 800 MHz processor, a high-resolution 1280 × 800 sensor and Zebra's exclusive PRZM Intelligent Imaging instantly capture virtually every 1D and 2D barcode – on paper labels and on phone screens, even when damaged or poorly printed – and the patented rear-engine design reads wide barcodes at every distance. Bluetooth 5.2 (Class 1) gives you up to 100 m of freedom from the cradle, the 2,500 mAh battery lasts for more than 50,000 scans per charge, and the scanner and cradle are backed by a 3-year (36-month) Zebra warranty. This version, DS4678-DP7U210ESFR, has the DPE engine for direct part marking (DPM) – built for small, low-contrast codes marked directly on electronic components and circuit boards. It comes in Twilight Black and is the desk/wall-mount cradle USB kit: it is supplied with the CR8178-SC standard cradle (Bluetooth charging and communication base for the counter or the wall) and a USB cable – everything you need to start scanning cordlessly at your PC or POS.

• Full-shift power – the 2,500 mAh Li-ion battery delivers more than 50,000 scans per charge – over 13 hours of continuous scanning. The battery is removable, reports its asset information and health, and charges whenever the scanner sits in its cradle (approx. 2 h 15 min from empty with the optional 12 V power supply).
• Two cradle styles – the CR8178-SC standard cradle stands on the counter or mounts on a wall, the CR8178-PC presentation cradle holds the scanner for hands-free scanning; both charge the scanner, send its data to the host and use Zebra's Connect+ contact technology for reliable, corrosion-free charging over the life of the scanner.
• Virtual Tether – the scanner and cradle alert staff when a scanner is taken out of range or left out of the cradle for too long, so cordless scanners don't go missing – ideal at self-checkouts.
• Multi-code reading and Preferred Symbol – capture several barcodes with a single trigger pull, or output only the barcode you need when several codes are printed close together.
• Direct Decode Indicator – the illumination on the barcode flashes on a good read, so staff know instantly that the scan worked, even in a noisy store.
• Plug and play – auto-host-detect cables identify USB, RS232 or IBM 46XX automatically; uses the same Zebra cables as the DS2208 and LS2208. Supports more than 90 international keyboards.
• Built to last – withstands multiple 1.8 m drops to concrete and 2,000 tumbles; IP52 sealing protects against dust and spills, double-sealed optics and a recessed exit window keep the 'eye' of the scanner clean, and the scanner and CR8178 cradle carry a 36-month Zebra warranty.
• Free management tools – configure with 123Scan, manage remotely with Scanner Management Service (SMS) and integrate using the Zebra Scanner SDK (Zebra DataCapture DNA).
