The Zebra LI3608 is an ultra-rugged corded 1D linear imager built for warehouses, manufacturing plants, cold storage and outdoor yards. It captures 1D barcodes as fast as workers can pull the trigger – including damaged, dirty, shrink-wrapped and poorly printed codes – and survives multiple 3 m drops to concrete, 7,500 tumbles and full submersion in water (IP65 and IP68 sealing). The scanner is backed by a 3-year (36-month) Zebra warranty. Please note: the LI3608 reads 1D (linear) barcodes only – it does not read 2D codes such as QR codes, Data Matrix or PDF417. This version, LI3608-ER20003VZWW, has the Extended Range (ER) engine (reads 1D barcodes from 5 cm up to about 17 m – from the hand to the top rack shelf) and is supplied as the scanner only – an interface cable is not included.
📦 What's in the box – LI3608-ER20003VZWW
- Zebra LI3608 scanner – Extended Range (ER), Industrial Green
💡 To get started, you might also consider a USB cable to connect the scanner to your computer or terminal, plus a stand or holder for hands-free scanning.
Key Features
- Virtually indestructible – withstands multiple 3 m (10 ft) drops to concrete and 7,500 tumbles from 1 m – the highest drop, tumble and sealing specifications in its class.
- IP65 and IP68 sealing – dust-tight, protected against water jets and fully submersible, so the scanner can be hosed down and used outdoors in rain and snow.
- Works from −30 °C to 50 °C – in freezers and cold stores, on outdoor docks and yards and in hot production halls.
- Extended Range (ER) engine – a 2,496-pixel sensor with a laser aimer reads 1D barcodes from 5 cm up to 17.3 m (100 mil Code 39) and up to 19.8 m on reflective labels – scan rack labels from the floor or a forklift without climbing.
- Fast, first-time 1D capture – reads damaged, dirty, poorly printed, low-contrast and shrink-wrapped 1D barcodes as fast as workers can pull the trigger – with no pause between scans.
- 1D only – please check your barcodes – the LI3608 does not read QR codes, Data Matrix, PDF417 or other 2D codes. If you need them, choose the Zebra DS3608 2D scanner – same rugged housing, same cables and accessories.
- Bright aiming and clear feedback – a sharp, bright aiming pattern makes it easy to select the right barcode on pick lists, while the Direct Decode Indicator, wrap-around LEDs, a loud beeper and vibration confirm every good read, even in noisy environments.
- Flexible connectivity – USB, RS232 and keyboard wedge (one scanner – just change the cable), plus direct Industrial Ethernet (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, TCP/IP) to PLCs via the optional Zebra EA3600 adapter.
- Free management tools – configure with 123Scan, manage remotely with Scanner Management Service (SMS), integrate using the Zebra Scanner SDK and monitor scanning performance with ScanSpeed Analytics (Zebra DataCapture DNA).
Ideal Applications
- Warehouses and distribution centres – receiving, put-away, picking, cycle counting and shipping with 1D labels
- Long-range scanning of high-rack locations and pallets from the floor or a forklift (ER version)
- Manufacturing and automotive – work-in-process, parts tracking and quality control, including direct PLC connection via Industrial Ethernet
- Cold storage and food processing – freezer rooms, wash-down areas and loading docks
- Transport, ports and yards – outdoor scanning in rain, snow and direct sunlight

Not sure which version you need? Choose SR for everyday 1D scanning at close to medium distances (up to about 1 m) – it also reads barcodes on screens – and ER to scan labels from 5 cm up to about 17 m, from the hand to the top rack shelf. The LI3608 uses dedicated 3600-series cables, so if you do not already have one, pick a version with a USB cable included. Need to read QR codes or other 2D barcodes? Choose the Zebra DS3608 instead.
