Print Poczta Polska labels on a thermal label printer (100×150)

Business customers of Poczta Polska create Pocztex and parcel labels in Elektroniczny Nadawca, the post's online sending system. By default it produces an A4 PDF, but a single-label setting gives you labels that print full size on a 100×150 mm roll in a Zebra, TSC or Honeywell label printer.

Before you start

Elektroniczny Nadawca creates address labels and dispatch documents such as the "Książka Nadawcza" (posting book). Its menus are in Polish, so this guide gives the Polish names with an English explanation. The main tabs are "Przesyłki" (Shipments), "Książka adresowa" (Address book) and "Ustawienia" (Settings).

Direct thermal shipping labels need no ribbon. Install the printer driver first: see the brand guides for Zebra, TSC or Honeywell PC42E.

Switch Elektroniczny Nadawca to single labels

Out of the box, EN generates a PDF in A4 format. Change this once in the settings:

1. Open Ustawienia › Ustawienia (Settings › Settings) and find the "Ustawienia wydruków" (Print settings) section.
2. For courier and parcel shipments (listed as "przesyłki KEP"), choose the print layout. Pick "etykieta pojedyncza" (single label), which Poczta Polska marks as intended for label printers.
3. Under "format wydruku" (print format), keep PDF. Choose ZPL only if your shipping software sends ZPL files straight to the printer.
4. Set the same for return labels if you print them. Letters ("Przesyłki listowe") have their own layouts, including a 101×54 mm label, so check the letter label size before you print letters on a 100×150 mm roll.
5. Save the settings.

Poczta Polska's sample labels show the single label at 100×150 mm, the size of a standard thermal shipping label. Print one test label after changing the setting.

Load 100×150 mm labels

Use direct thermal labels, for example our 100×150 mm labels, 500 pcs or the eco labels, 1000 pcs. The "40 g" and "76 g" in the names are the core diameter in millimetres. Compare the core and roll diameter with your printer's specification before ordering. Thermal transfer labels print only with a ribbon.

After loading a new roll, calibrate the printer so it learns the 150 mm label length.

Set the label size in the driver

In the printer's Printing preferences, set the paper size to 100×150 mm and portrait orientation:

• Zebra: ZDesigner driver, Page Setup tab, Media Settings. Set Printing mode to Thermal Direct.
• TSC: TSC Windows driver (Seagull), Page Setup, Stock: create a 100×150 mm stock.
• Honeywell: InterDriver, set the 100×150 mm media size.

If barcodes look pale, raise darkness one step at a time; if bars run together, lower it or reduce speed.

Print labels from Elektroniczny Nadawca

1. Go to Przesyłki › Przygotowane (Shipments › Prepared).
2. Tick the shipments and choose "Wydrukuj etykiety dla zaznaczonych" (Print labels for the selected), or use the label button of one shipment. EN downloads the labels in the format you set (PDF).
3. Open the PDF, choose your label printer and check the page size. If the PDF page is 100×150 mm, print at actual size (100 %). If it has any other page size, choose Fit to page.
4. Print one label and scan its barcodes before printing the batch.
5. When everything is packed, close the batch ("zbiór") and send it with "Przekaż dane do Poczty" (Transfer data to the post).

Labels can be printed again later from the sent shipments ("Wysłane") or the archive ("Archiwum").

Print from your webshop

Poczta Polska lists integrations on its integrations page. They connect your shop to Elektroniczny Nadawca:

• PrestaShop: Poczta Polska's own plugin. "Pobierz etykietę" (Download label) saves a PDF; for several orders use "Działania masowe" › "Pobierz etykiety" (Bulk actions › Download labels). "Wyślij do urzędu" (Send to the post office) passes the batch to EN.
